The Cochin Airport is an international airport and is the biggest and the busiest of all airports in the state of Kerala. Air India Express uses this airport as its primary base. The airport has three main terminals- Domestic, International and Cargo.
The domestic terminal has the capacity to hold about 500 passengers and has 6 security gates along with 6 and 4 premium and self check-in counters respectively. The Business Class passengers have the privilege to use the special Lounge and there is a Family Lounge at the airport for the other passengers. The entrance has a restaurant and the waiting area has a food court.
Facilities of Cochin Airport
The international terminal can handle 1,800 passengers at a time. There are two buildings at the international terminal- one for the arrival and the other for the departure and a corridor connects both of these. The international terminal at the Cochin Airport has 12 security and custom gates each. There are four Lounges, which the First Class and the Business Class passengers could use.
The Cargo Terminal of the Cochin international airport is one of the largest in the country and handles a large number of cargo deliveries and arrivals on a daily basis. Apart from this, the airport has trolley services, cab and call-taxi counters, several restaurants and eateries and tourist information counter.
The airport has the best scanning machines and the security checking screens. The passengers can reach the Cochin Airport by Bus, Car and by train. The nearest railway station is only about a distance of 500 metres from the airport.
